In the late 1800's, the gold mining region known as "Quigley's Gap", now the community of Klamath River, was settled by Willis "Moon" Quigley and family. Moon earned his nickname by running moonshine to the surrounding communities. In the 1930's, President Herbert Hoover frequented the area to enjoy the local fishing and hunting with his friend Moon Quigley. The establishment, now known as Quigley's General Store and RV Park, began as Moon's home and the local post office. The location has gone through many changes over the past 100 years. Most are now just a part of history, except the final transformation that is the grocery store and trailer park. Quigley's has a well stocked store, a spacious RV park with a private beach, and a deli with delicious mouthwatering food. The store stocks dry goods, fresh veggies and fruits, reading materials, and local crafts. The RV park has RV hook-ups, restrooms, showers, and a laundry room. The deli is known up and down the river for its homemade soups, sandwiches, quiches and desserts. Come join us on our balcony for good food, drinks and a great view of the Klamath River. All of us here at Quigley's boast both of a beautiful river and a gorgeous scenic byway where visitors enjoy biking, hiking, rafting, kayaking, fishing, and hunting. We are 25 minutes from the historical town of Yreka and 35 minutes from Ashland, Oregon. |
